hey, glad i came across this. heads up on Hwang BoWon, not sure if that is the correct writting with the chinese name, but that’s what he used in Korea. he just moved from Jeonbuk Hyundai in Korea to Gwangzhou. as you probably know, the two teams squared off in the AFC group stages this year. also notable, Jeonbuk released 평사우팅Pheung Shouting (not sure if that is correct of not) and he joined Gwangzhou as well.

Sorry, there are all kinds of random streams online with many different commentators, there are certainly no famous commentators working on CSL matches.

I’ve been attending football matches regularly for the last 3 season. Principally Guoan and BG/Baxy matches, true, as they are easiest to get to living in Beijing but I’ve also traveled around a bit watching games ( Harbin Yiteng, Changchun Yatai, Jiangsu Sainty, Shanghai Shenhua, Shanghai SIPG, Hangzhou Greentown, etc) and it’s interesting to note that whilst a lot of the news is right up-to-date, as are the results and league-tables, the guides are woefully inaccurate/outdated (15RMB Sainty tickets, 30RMB Guoan tickets, “A first-time-visitors guide to Guangzhou Sunray Caves” and “Guide to football in Shenyang” really need to be removed as they are misleading in the extreme). How about sorting this out? Bar the prices, the Beijing guide is still fairly accurate and the Shenhua one from last year is still fine.

Your point about the guides being outdated is a fair one. As you probably worked out yourself, the football scene in China is constantly changing, teams change name, move city, move stadium and their financial status can fluctuate wildly – all this in a short space of time. So it really is a challenge to keep guides up to date as they are written and researched in good faith at the time of publication.
We lack the resources on the ground in each city to keep on top of everything, but perhaps it is time for us to put a disclaimer on this articles that the information is subject to change.
At the end of the day the date of each article is visible, so readers should really already be aware of how up to date it is.
It’s actually kinda funny to look back on a post from the initial days of WEF (2011?! has it been that long?!?). Funny to think that a whole new subway line servicing the stadium has opened up since then….In any case, I’ve updated the Guoan post to the situation in 2015

Back for another season of fun?
The schedule of matches is out and I’m starting to plan my year of football trips but I’ve encountered an immediate problem that has thrown it’s little spanner in the works. Your “up-coming matches” section on the home-page suggests that the Teda Vs Guoan matches will be on the 6th of March. Every other reference I’ve seen (2) suggests that it’s a wednesday night match on the 16th. Whose right?? Has it changed?? For some reason, Guoan’s official site won’t load for me at the moment.
So…Am I going to Zhengzhou or Tianjin on the first weekend of games??
I’ve just managed to get Guoan’s website up and it tells me there are 17 days, 8 hours and 55 minutes to go before their next game, at home Vs Hebei CFFC. I’m going to Zhengzhou by the looks.
The match was originally scheduled for 3/6, due to Tianjin’s pitch not being ready in time, they’ve moved the game back…
