Another blow for Chinese football

Bayern Munich became the latest club to pimp itself out on the web to Chinese football fans, following in the footsteps of Man U.

Why the pessimism? Well, how is China going to develop its domestic game when mega-bucks European clubs are wooing their fans away from their own game? No wonder the Chinese always frown and say “Bu Hao!” when you ask them about their football. Why? Too much admiration of the glitz and glamour of European soccer and not enough realisation that football in China is still in its infancy and must develop like the rest of the country.

Don’t believe the hype, China!
