Who Cares About Football, It’s CSL Wedding Season!

As Cristiano Ronaldo found out when Real Madrid came to China this summer, the Chinese media is interested in all details of a star’s life and wants demands full access.  Therefore, this time of year you’ll find two types of stories in the media when you open up a major sports webpage each morning.  One will be the “heated kang league” (transfer rumors) stories that you’d see anywhere in the world during the offseason.  The other kind of story is uniquely Chinese as we’re offered pictures and insight into the player’s wedding.  And don’t get it twisted, Chinese Super League wives aren’t into being summer brides, instead they’re stuck to their husband’s schedule and thus November starts the Chinese Super League wedding season.  Here are some pictures from the action so far, who has the prettiest bride?  Who has the worst clothes?  Whose wedding would you want to be at?

National teamer and Henan Construction keeper Zeng Cheng had the most star studded wedding of the season in Wuhan recently.

Wang Dalei posted a picture of himself on Weibo in a hat, tshirt, and shorts when he got his wedding license, but he does it up right for his ceremony, looking good.

Not to be outdone by fellow Shenhua keeper (what’s with keepers and weddings this year?), Qiu Shengjiong got married a few weeks ago.  Someone should have told him that black is slimming, just hope his wife isn’t a good cook.

Changchun Yatai’s Gao Jian married a Korean Air stewardess, what’s the over/under that they’ve joined the “mile high club”?

Shaanxi Chanba star Mao Jianqing may not be happy about his club’s pending move to Guizhou, but he’s unlikely to be with them anyways, so where will he and Madame Mao end up next year?

Qingdao’s Liu Jian has a lot to be happy about, a great year on the pitch and a new bride, too bad he looks like he’s 15 in this picture.

Wang Bo (Liaoning) will have more time to spend with his new wife after his club decided against participating in the ACL.

It’s not only current players who get into the action, here’s former Guoan star and ex-national teamer Gao Feng (or as I like to call him ex Mr. Na Ying) at his November nuptials.
