All the goals from CSL round 22

Some interesting moments this week, a water-logged game, and bad defeats for the teams followed by contributors – Shenhua, Guoan and Jiangsu Sainty. Liaoning are the real beneficaries this week, solidifying their grip on the 3rd and final ACL spot.

Chengdu Blades 1-3 Shaanxi Chanba

Whoever is in charge of editing Sina’s video highlights must have falled asleep on the job for this reel – one of Shaanxi’s goals is missing, whilst other unremarkable moments such as a tame Shaanxi corner floating into an unchallenged Chengdu keeper’s hands are shown. Nevertheless, its a good victory for Shaanxi, mid-season signing Derek Riordan gets his first goal for Shaanxi with a deflected effort.

Tianjin 1-0 Shanghai Shenhua

Shenhua just aren’t getting the breaks – a disallowed goal, an undeserved sending off, and a late winner for Tianjin make it five defeats on the trot.

Changchun Yatai 1-0 Jiangsu Sainty

Jiangsu’s magnificent run finally comes to an end, and they pay for it dearly, slipping several places down the table.

Shandong Luneng 1-2 Hangzhou Greentown

Hangzhou grab an impressive victory on the road against last year’s champions, who miss a penalty. Don’t miss the soundtrack here, China’s answer the Queen.

Henan Construction 1-1 Guangzhou Evergrande

Guangzhou draw for the second game in succession, but they do enough to stay undefeated all season.

Shenzhen 4-2 Dalian Shide

A surprise result, bottom of the table Shenzhen drag Dalian into the relegation mire thanks to a hat-trick from on-loan Shenhua striker Dong Xuesheng – a player who had previously only scored two goals for Shenhua in around two and a half seasons. Shenzhen should have scored more but for some shocking misses.

Liaoning 1-0 Nanchang

Farcial stuff on a totally waterlogged pitch. Liaoning grab a crucial victory in their push for an ACL place, lookout for the amusing sight of one of their players trying to sweep away rain to take a free-kick.

Qingdao 1-0 Beijing Guoan

Guoan’s trip to the seaside doesn’t go according to plan. Lookout for the pushing and shoving match towards the end, which sees several players involve themselves in a contest to see who can do the best comedy fall.
