Brazilian striker Bruno Meneghel to join Dalian Aerbin

Qingdao Jonoon striker Bruno Meneghel will represent Dalian Aerbin in the 2014 Chinese Super League season, according to Wild East Football sources.

Bruno, 26, has been among the top-scoring players in the league over the past 18-months since arriving from America Mineiro, scoring 19 league goals for the recently relegated Tiantai side.

Now out of contract, the Brazilian will move to Dalian Aerbin as the club look to replenish their foreign player options, with Fabio Rochemback and under-performing Frenchman Guillaume Hoarau heading for the exit door.

The player underwent a medical examination with his new side on Tuesday and should be officially announced as an Aerbin player in due course.

Meneghel is the first major departure of from Qingdao this winter, ahead of what will likely be many following the club’s relegation—with China international midfielder Liu Jian’s future already being debated.

Aerbin are currently competing in the semifinal of the CFA Cup and, while they take on Guizhou with a first leg deficit, are still hopeful of reaching the final and earning a place in next year’s AFC Champions League.
