Naútico in talks to return Kieza to Brazil

The president of Brazilian side Naútico, Paulo Wanderley, has confirmed that the club are in the process of negotiating the return of Shanghai Shenxin striker this summer.

Kieza, 26, has become a club hero in Recife over the past two seasons, having top-scored for the side in both the Brazilian second tier and top-flight as they achieved an unexpectedly high league position in the 2012 season.

Should he return, it would be the second season in a row that he would have rejoined Naútico after a spell out of the country. In early 2012, Kieza was transferred to Emerati side Al-Shabab, before returning later in the year.

“I am waiting for the Chinese club to say how much they really want,” Wanderley told reporters. “How much do they want? Then we can start the negotiation.

“Our interest in the athlete and our intention to repatriate him are no secret. We want a quick resolution—yes or no.”

Since arriving in China, Kieza has been a success for his new side, scoring seven goals in 14 appearances to top the scoring charts at Shanghai Shenxin.
