Brazilian forward Rafael Coelho, who joined Changchun Yatai from Guangzhou R&F in February, has left the club after failing to replicate the impressive form that saw him brought to the North-East.
Coelho had an impressive two-year stint with Guangzhou R&F, scoring 25 goals in 55 league appearances. Changchun were hoping Coelho would be able to maintain his prolific goal scoring to help them climb the CSL table after a tough season last year.
It was not to be, however, as Coelho had managed just 2 goals in 14 appearances for the club. Changchun manager Dragan Okuka must now look to fill the vacant import slot available to his team and rumours have circulated that the team has signed, or is in the process of signing, Hungarian international Szabolcs Huszti.
Huszti currently applies his trade as a winger for Hannover in the German Bundesliga, making 30 appearances for the club and scoring 10 goals as the team finished 10th in the Bundesliga last season.
Huszti has also represented his native Hungary 51 times whilst scoring 7 goals in the process. Despite not making another international since 2010, his experience on the international stage will be vital for Changchun.
If Changchun should make him their latest foreign player it will be a strong statement to other CSL clubs that Changchun is serious about making a push up the CSL ladder.
