[WATCH] New Guizhou starlet Hyuri arrives in China

Guizhou Renhe have now completed their foreign transfer activity for the winter transfer window, with teenage Brazilian forward Hyuri arriving as their fifth foreign player for the 2014 season.

Hyuri, 19, joins the Bosnian duo of Zvjezdan Misimovic and Zlatan Muslimovic at the club, as well as Poland international defensive midfielder Krzysztof Maczynski and Australia’s Jonas Salley.

The transfer, which had been speculated upon for a couple of weeks ahead of completion, was greeted with initial surprise by many given the youngster’s burgeoning reputation acquired last season.

However, with Botafogo’s financial troubles prohibitive to them completing a permanent transfer following his loan move from Audax-RJ, Hyuri becomes now one of the youngest foreign acquisitions in the history of the CSL.

While the youngster began life in the Brazilian top flight with a bang, scoring three goals in his first two appearances, the remainder of his six month spell with the Carioca giants was a somewhat quieter affair.

Exactly what the player’s true potential is remains unclear. However, for fans of Chinese football it is exciting to see an undeniably talented young player arrive in the CSL so early in their career.

It is likely that Hyuri will be eased into action at the club, with one foreign player set to miss out on registration for the Champions League group stage.

However, if he can demonstrate the speed and technique that lit up the Brazilian championship during his early performances, Guizhou fans could be in for a real treat in 2014.
