On Saturday Guizhou Zhicheng travelled to the capital to take on Beijing Baxy. Zhicheng were looking for all three points as they find themselves in a battle against relegation.
The first half Zhicheng put on pressure, but couldn’t come up with a goal. They maintained their strong pace at the beginning of the second half and were repaid when Carlo Costly scored. The Honduran international found himself with a ton of space right of the Baxy keeper to put the ball into the far side.
Unfortunately for Zhicheng the goal woke up Baxy. Ryan Griffiths was able to put in a good cross for local Beijinger Lu Jiang to head home. Afterwards the match seemed to die out except for a last minute chance by Baxy.
With Hubei winning against BIT and Chengdu drawing with league leaders Henan, Zhicheng find themselves in the drop zone.
