East Asia’s 3-0 trouncing of Guizhou Renhe – unbeaten at home since the first day of the season, and graced by the top-flight experience of Sun Jihai and Bundesliga-winning Zvjezdan Misimovic et al- was definitely the result of the round.
In a textbook away performance, East Asia swatted aside a singularly unimpressive Renhe side with ease, and the 3 goal margin didn’t flatter either. Renhe, on the other hand, barely troubled East Asia, with their one-dimensional hoofball yielding the occasional half-chance and nothing more.
This is a really exciting East Asia side which, despite being a bit dainty at times, has the potential to bloody a few more CSL noses this season. I for one will be very disappointed if we don’t top the CSL Shanghai mini-league this term!
It was an impressive result no doubt. East Asia deserve a lot of plaudits this season and have been a breath of fresh air to both the CSL and the Shanghai football scene in general.
