Qingdao Jonoon striker Bruno Meneghel looks set to return to Brazilian football this summer, as he considers contract offers from his homeland.
Bruno, 26, arrived in China in July 2012 and has played a major role in Qingdao’s transformation from relegation battlers to top-half outfit, scoring 16 goals in 26 appearances for the seaside club.
It has been confirmed to that the player is currently considering approaches from four clubs in Brazil, believed to include former sides Nautico and America-MG, as well as Sport Recife and Atletico-PR.
With the player’s contract containing a buyout clause that all the clubs are believed to be happy to meet, it will now be a matter of choosing between the sides—with all four contracts larger than the player’s current deal in China.
“There is a big chance I will go back to play in Brazil. I am positive about it because there is interest and a much better contract than here in China,” the player told your correspondent, in an exclusive for Goal.com Brasil.
“If I were to stay at Qingdao, it would have to be because there was a better contract than offered to return. In Brazil I would be closer to my home and family.”
For now, though, Bruno remains an important player at the Tiantai stadium and will be part of the Qingdao side which takes on Beijng Guoan on Saturday night.

He’d be a big loss to Qingdao but they’re very very unlikely to get a continental spot regardless and seem pretty safe from relegation already, so would be a good deal all round.
