Peter Utaka in Guoan negotiations – report

According to a report by Chinese media outlet Sohu, Dalian Aerbin and Beijing Guoan are deep in negotiations that would see Nigerian forward Peter Utaka head to the capital side.

Utaka, 29, was the second top-scorer in the Chinese Super League in 2012, playing for Aerbin under now Beijing manager Aleksander Stanojevic.

However, following the arrival of former Paris Saint-Germain striker Guillaume Hoarau in the North-East in January, Utaka has found playing time limited at the club.

The Nigeria international has come under fire from team-mates at times this campaign for a perceived lack of commitment to the cause, but is said to be delighted at possibly reuniting with former manager Stanojevic.

While no deal is yet complete, Sohu report that there is a big chance of a deal being struck ahead of the transfer window opening on July 1.

Despite Hoarau’s disappointing showings thus far in an Aerbin shirt, it is thought that Utaka is the player seen as expendable, with the Frenchman’s departure likely to bring the club a significant loss on their investment.
