The CFA announced its roster for an extended training session in Spain next month leading into the team’s first Asian Cup qualifying match away to Saudi Arabia on February 6. The roster contains nine Guangzhou Evergrande players (Sun Xiang is back and new signing Feng Renliang adds to their count), while Shandong’s Wang Yongpo gets his first call up in many years. Wang was the CSL’s domestic goal king in 2012.
Manager Jose Antonion Camacho still seems to have something against Beijing Guoan, leaving Yang Zhi, who was formerly the top choice keeper up until his injury last season, out of the squad. Another Guoan player who has to be equally frustrated is youngster Piao Cheng, who still hasn’t broken into the national squad. The full list of players who will be headed to Spain is below.
