Pub Talk: Backwards and a forwards, the Pub Cast returns

It’s another pubcast as B heads south to join Shanghai Ultra for a very special love-in. Joining the pair are Guangzhou-based R&F fan Donald Ross, Shanghai Shenhua supporter Steve Crooks, and self-confessed football-lover Martin Kuroczik, who also based in the big bad ‘hai. The furious five take a look back over the events of the past season, and look forward to the upcoming year. Topics on the agenda: Anelka, Guangzhou fan culture, controversial domestic transfers, sackings, tea houses, dog legs, and baijiu. As always, please join the fray with your comments and remarks.

  1. Psst Shanghai Ultra: It’s not a smooth segue if you say it is 😉

Fuli with a trinity of Cantonese players? Loving the sound of that!

Great to hear Buster Gonads popping up after all this time!

Nice work everyone. Look forward to next season.

    • HHHAHAAHAH! The buster gonad was for you Yiddo, and you may have heard fellow Brit Steve sniggering in the background as I recounted the legendary WEF tale. I feel I should flag myself as inapporpriate after that swearing though… 🙂

  2. Martin forgot his Barrios fact: that Barrios won the domestic double in both Germany and China in the same year

    • Oh yeah, I was nervous when the microphone was switched on, my palms got sweaty and I couldn’t think straight. 😉 Was a pleasure to do this with all of you and also the interesting talk in the evening that was to follow made the whole thing worthwhile. Let’s do it again sometime.

  3. Anelka is just a mercenary, and a self proclaimed follower of muslim. I can say this Anelka, you are a following of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ only, you brought nothing to china.
On a moe positive note, congragulations to Evergrande for winning the CSL League and Cup and especially to Zhang Linpeng. Zhang Linpeng shows the hard work of chinese youth talent in a hell-ish crap environment and will be the future of chinese football.

  4. I’d sure love to hear a female’s perspective(Xiao Rou comes to mind).
Please don’t leave us hanging through the winter off-season. Thanks again guys.
