Some exciting stuff in this round, not least of which was Guangzhou being defeated for the first time this season – a result which gladdens the hearts of all Chinese Super League fans outside of the capital of Canton. Elsewhere there’s unexpected humiliation for Shenhua, rain-soaked pitches, and some big games at the bottom of the league again.

Chengdu Blades 2-0 Shanghai Shenhua
Shenhua really out do themselves with an utterly shocking defeat against the weakest team in the Chinese Super League by a long way. The Hongkou side will stay up – thanks to the fact there just aren’t really enough games left for them to lose. Read ‘s report, if you must.
Henan Construction 2-0 Nanchang
Henan grab a vital win which pulls them away from the relegation zone, at the same time plunging Nanchang deeper into it.
Shandong Luneng 0-0 Dalian Shide
The highlights reel for this match lasts just two minutes or so, even that is probably a bit too long for this dull spectacle.
Tianjin 2-2 Hangzhou
Quite a decent match this one, former Shenhua favourite Mao Jianqing scores a nice opener for Hangzhou, but its not enough to seal the three points.
Changchun 2-1 Guangzhou
At long last Guangzhou lose for the first time this season – its been a long time coming, but finally it happened. A late goal from Changchun seals all three points and Guangzhou look like they won’t clinch the title until October at the earliest.
Shenzhen 0-3 Beijing Guoan
Beijing make short work of Shenzhen, as Bcheng’s report reveals. Shenzhen remain deeply mired in relegation trouble.
Liaoning 0-0 Qingdao
Qingdao have dozens of chances but just can’t find the net. An exciting 0-0 draw is the end result of this match. Don’t miss the action-rock backing track in this reel.
Shaanxi 0-0 Jiangsu Sainty
Another game played in atrociously wet conditions – the shocking state of the pitch makes it hard work for the players to even pass the ball succesfully, as both teams unsurprisingly draw a blank.
Our defeat gladdens the hearts of other CSL sides? lol. I don’t think we’re the hate image that Beijing Guoan SB is quite yet.
Heh heh, agree with that. Cao Lv mao gui!
